Veterinarian Michael Pol says he’s not alone in his frustration with the price of the low-cost veterinary clinic program.
The program has been criticized by the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
The AVPAM said in a statement that the low cost program is not effective and that it has a high failure rate.
“The low cost clinic program has not been proven to be effective in terms of decreasing vet visits and the number of medical visits and deaths that occur in the community because of unnecessary visits,” the statement said.
In its statement, the AVPAMS said the program “has a low success rate and is often used by patients to avoid paying for services.”
