Dachshunds rescued in a flood in Kerala

A Dachsie and a Doberman Pinscher are both rescued from the flood waters in Kerala’s Palakkad district.

The rescue operation was carried out by a rescue squad led by an officer from the Palakkar Police Station.

A Dachse is a German shepherd breed that is named after Dachs, a German prince who died in a car crash at the age of 21.

The rescuers said the rescue operation lasted around 45 minutes.

A rescue team, comprising a rescue officer and dog trainer, used a specially adapted water tank and ladder to rescue the dogs from the waters in the district.
