Dumpsters have been everywhere these days, and a man in Louisiana apparently decided to dumpster dive off a bridge.
According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, 49-year-old Matthew A. Daugherty had been in the city for a week, working as a pet groomer, when he decided to take a dumpster jump, jumping off the side of the bridge.
Daughherty was pronounced dead at the scene by police.
Duggies are no strangers to this area, as local dogs like to roam the sidewalks and alleyways, and some even jump off bridges.
In fact, some dumpster diving communities have even adopted “Dumpster Diving Week” where residents collect discarded trash from the area and offer it to the local dogs.
Dugster diving has been around since the 1800s, but there’s no official Guinness World Record for the most dumped dumpster-digging dog in history.
Still, some people take the dumpster dip for sentimental reasons, such as finding out they can be found in the backyard of their home.
It’s hard to say for sure, but it’s not uncommon to see people throwing their trash in a dumpsters when they go out to do yardwork or take a stroll in the yard.
